Treatment & Monitoring

Interventional pain medicine at the Upper Room Clinic is OHIP-covered, but requires a referral from your family physician or nurse practitioner. Once we receive your referral, we contact you to gather your history, imaging, and previous treatments. You can also self-refer, but we will need a family doctor on file to administer medication.

You’ll meet with the pain physician for an up to 60 minute consultation to review your symptoms, assess imaging, and determine which OHIP-covered interventional procedures are appropriate. Your doctor will explain your diagnosis, expected outcomes, and the recommended treatment plan.

Most injections take only a few minutes, with minimal downtime. We monitor your progress over time, adjusting your care plan based on improvement in pain, function, and mobility.
