Yes. Epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, facet injections, joint injections, and trigger point injections performed by our pain physicians are fully covered by OHIP.
Imaging is helpful but not required. If you have recent X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans, upload them through our portal. If imaging is needed, your physician will order it.
Relief varies from patient to patient. Some feel improvement for weeks to months at a time. Your physician will track your response to determine if additional treatments are needed.
Most patients return to normal activity immediately. Some may experience mild soreness for 12–24 hours. Heavy lifting or strenuous exercise is usually avoided the same day.
We treat back and neck pain, sciatica, radicular pain, facet arthritis, migraines, occipital neuralgia, shoulder pain, hip pain, SI joint pain, myofascial trigger points, and many other nerve-related or musculoskeletal conditions.
You may call us directly to start the process, but an OHIP referral from your family doctor or nurse practitioner is required in order for you to receive pain medication.
