Dr. Biljana Kostovic
Dr. Biljana Kostovic is a physician with more than three decades of medical experience, known for her depth of clinical expertise, compassionate approach, and dedication to integrative, regenerative, and interventional healing. She earned her Medical Doctorate from the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Medicine and completed her Emergency Medicine specialization through the University of Sarajevo and the University of Belgrade, graduating with the highest honours. Her early career across Sarajevo, Belgrade, and Vršac provided extensive grounding in emergency medicine, ICU care, cardiology, trauma, and general hospital medicine.
After immigrating to Canada, Dr. Kostovic practiced for nearly twenty years as an Emergency Physician across multiple hospital systems, including William Osler Health System and Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation, also serving as Chief of Staff for Charlotte County Hospital. These roles strengthened her ability to manage complex, high-acuity conditions and shaped her commitment to comprehensive, patient-centred care.
In 2010, Dr. Kostovic expanded into regenerative and complementary medicine, motivated both by her desire to offer better healing options for patients and by her late husband’s cancer diagnosis. Searching for solutions beyond the limits of conventional oncology, she undertook advanced training in high-dose vitamin C, ozone therapy, and integrative cancer care. She trained directly under leading experts Dr. Frank Shallenberger and Dr. Robert Rowen, earning certifications in ozone therapy, Prolozone®, prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
Dr. Kostovic was also an early adopter of RGCC cancer genetic testing, recognizing its potential long before it became widely known in North America. Over the past decade, she has become nationally recognized as the leading practitioner in Canada using RGCC analysis, achieving outstanding patient responses. Her expertise in interpreting tumour genetics allows her to pair targeted natural compounds, metabolic therapies, and immune-supportive strategies to each patient’s unique molecular profile.
She is certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM), with additional integrative oncology training under Dr. Paul Anderson. These pathways reflect thousands of hours of education across mitochondrial medicine, toxicology, metabolic therapies, and chronic viral and immune dysregulation.
In 2018, Dr. Kostovic founded The Upper Room Clinic, uniting her extensive medical background with advanced regenerative treatments, interventional pain procedures, and precision-guided integrative oncology. Known for her calm presence, technical skill, and unwavering dedication, she continues to lead the clinic with the mission of offering thoughtful, innovative, and compassionate care to every patient she serves.
